Starbucks released its winter 2024 food and beverage menu a few months ago, including numerous interesting new options.
However, one of those new things is so popular that the coffee chain is having difficulties stocking it.
The vegetarian Potato, Cheddar, & Chive Bake (210 calories) is a hit with cage-free eggs, diced potatoes, cheddar cheese, spinach, and a hint of
chives cooked until golden brown. Kristin Chenoweth said earlier this month that Starbucks is having breakfast casserole-inspired supply
challenges. On March 4, she asked Starbucks on X why it had disappeared from the menu.
Why did you remove the new potato egg and cheese bites, @starbucks? She posted "#heartbroken".
Dear Kristin, "The bakes aren't discontinued, just popular," the tweet stated, citing Chenoweth's 'Wicked' song. Stores will replenish them shortly as part of our year-round offering.
Starbucks told Allrecipes that the Potato, Cheddar, & Chive Bake is available year-round but may vary by shop or market.
Eat This, Not That! examined multiple Starbucks outlets in central New Jersey and couldn't find the item. The chain didn't identify where the supply issue is.
Before visiting, check with your local Starbucks if the Potato, Cheddar, & Chive Bake is available. Don't expect the item to return immediately if it's not available locally.
