Costco revealed its second-quarter 2024 earnings results and reviewed them with investors on March 7. In the call, outgoing Costco CFO
Richard Galanti said they've been "taking price reductions where we can," including for batteries, reading glasses, beverages, and frozen fruit.
Galanti noted that Costco has cut 48-count Kirkland Signature battery packs from $17.99 to $15.99 and reading glasses from $18.99 to $16.99.
San Pellegrino 24-count boxes decreased from $16.99 to $14.99, and four-pound frozen fruit bundles dropped from $14.99 to $10.99.
Galanti stated that several new sports and lawn and garden products will be cheaper in 2024 than last year.
These price cuts occur when inflation slows, but high expenses still affect consumers. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, prices rose 0.3% between December and January
