Chipotle Is Giving Out Free Food This Week

Chipotle is National Burrito Day's mascot. For the April 7 culinary holiday, the restaurant is offering free burritos, but there's a catch.

If you want free burritos tomorrow and possibly free food for a year (which is noteworthy given the chain's escalating prices), read on.

Chipotle is offering free burritos in real life by rolling virtual ones in Roblox starting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. ET. The first 100,000 players to

teleport back to 1993 (the year the Chipotle burrito was invented) and enter a '90s-themed Chipotle location to roll digital burritos will earn

enough digital currency to exchange for an entree code that can be redeemed on the Chipotle app, website, or in-person for a free burrito.

The chain created the first Roblox-inspired burrito, the Chipotle Burrito Builder Burrito, with white rice, black beans,

chicken, fresh tomato salsa, tomatillo red chili salsa, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and guacamole after tweeting a poll.

Roblox previously sponsored Chipotle promos, including last Halloween's "free Boorito" event.

The virtual event caused Chipotle personnel to struggle to meet demand, extended wait times, and the game site to crash.

Both parties hope their promotion goes better this time. Chipotle's first in-experience money and virtual food on Roblox were also introduced.
