Southwest to Add New Routes to the Caribbean, Mexico
Southwest Airlines is launching four new fall flights in Kansas City, Missouri, and Long Beach, California, and increasing service at its Denver hub.
Southwest will begin seasonal Saturday service between Kansas City and Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Los Cabos,
Mexico, on Oct. 7. Southwest says the new routes will supplement its daily Kansas City-Cancun service starting Oct. 5.
The new flights follow Kansas City International Airport's first new terminal in 50 years, which has a big international arrivals section.
“We are grateful for Southwest's continued growth in Kansas City and for easier access to some of our most requested leisure destinations,
Kansas City Aviation Department director Pat Klein said. The convenience of clearing customs at home airport will please travelers.
Besides Kansas City, Southwest will begin Saturday and Sunday flights from Long Beach, CA, to Boise, ID, and Portland, OR, on Oct. 7.

The carrier is also installing USB A and USB C power connections at every seat, larger overhead bins, and upgraded Wi-Fi, modifying its internet pricing system.
